GALLATIN, TN – September 14, 2026 - Patients across Sumner County and surrounding communities now have expanded access to specialty care as Highpoint Gastroenterology and Liver Disease with Ascension Saint Thomas relocates to a new Gallatin office and welcomes Sarah Wojtowicz, NP-BC, to its provider team.
Located at 437 E. Main St. in Gallatin, the practice offers evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions.
Wojtowicz joins gastroenterologist Rafid Hussein, DO, and physician assistant Caleb Teague, PA-C. A Hendersonville resident, she is excited to help bring specialized services to the area, allowing patients to receive care locally "so they don't have to travel to Nashville to see their providers."
Digestive health concerns can affect nearly every aspect of daily life, from nutrition and sleep to work, family activities and overall well-being. Yet many people delay seeking care, dismissing symptoms as a normal part of life.
Services include evaluation and treatment for:
- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis)
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Celiac disease
- Eosinophilic esophagitis
- Difficulty swallowing
- Chronic diarrhea or constipation
- Liver disease
- Abdominal pain and bloating
Wojtowicz brings experience in trauma, critical care and gastroenterology to the practice and has a special interest in liver disease and preventive care. She said one of the things she enjoys most about gastroenterology is the opportunity to help patients identify concerns early and potentially avoid more serious health issues in the future.
"Being able to help patients prevent long-term illnesses that could be life threatening is really impactful," said Wojtowicz.
She believes patients should play an active role in their care and values taking time to understand their concerns.
"I really like to give my patients the opportunity to talk through their symptoms and what they're experiencing while I listen, so that I can advocate for them the best that I can," she said.
