WHAT: TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is honoring Tennessee Donor Heroes who have given the gift of life and healing through organ, eye and tissue donation. Donor families, transplant recipients, hospital staff, healthcare professionals and donor advocates are gathering for a Donate Life flag raising ceremony at TriStar Hendersonville and throughout Tennessee. The public is invited to attend the ceremony, and encouraged to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor.

WHY: April is Donate Life Month, a national celebration of the lifesaving and changing impacts of organ, eye and tissue donation. Currently, more than 100,000 American men, women, and children are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. TriStar Hendersonville works with Tennessee Donor Services, one of the organizations that makes organ donation possible in Tennessee.
