SUMNER COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT OFFERS BACK TO SCHOOL IMMUNIZATIONS

Gallatin, TN – The Sumner County Health Department announced today it is offering extended hours to support parents as families prepare for the start of a new school year.  This includes ensuring students returning to school this fall are up to date on childhood immunizations.

The Sumner County Health Department Clinics in Hendersonville, Gallatin, and Portland will be offering additional hours during the school registration period for Sumner County schools.  Health department clinics in Sumner County will be open until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26th and Tuesday, July 27th, 2021.

“The new school year will soon be here, and we want to support parents and families as they take steps to complete their child’s immunizations and school physicals,” said Sumner County Health Director Hal Hendricks. “This year we are encouraging parents to plan ahead and schedule appointments for routine well-child visits. We are here to accommodate parents and ensure that students are healthy and ready to learn the first day of classes.”

Additionally, an electronic portal has been created to allow parents to remotely request an updated immunization form. To submit a request for immunization records electronically, visit: https://www.sumnertn.org/offices/health and complete the  “Immunization Record Transfer” form. Health Department staff will contact you with more information upon submission.
