2021 Career Exploration Recruitment

We are in need of individuals in your profession to share “the good news” about your career with 8th graders.

We would like to invite you to participate in an exciting event planned for over 2,300 Sumner County 8th grades who will be virtually attending the P16 Council Career Exploration Fair hosted by Colunteer State Community College on May 7, 2021, 9:00 to 11:00am.

The P16 Council Career Exploration Fair provides an avenue for eighth graders preparing to enter local high schools to explore a breadth of career areas and make an informed decision when choosing their courses. The majority of high school dropouts occur during the freshman year. This fair helps raise awareness and excitement that shows in-coming freshmen the relevance of their studies and the opportunities their futures hold. The main focus of our virtual visits is to showcase a broad spectrum of possible careers.

We are seeking career and industry representatives that can commit to attending short (15 minute), live zoom calls with area students.  The calls will be scheduled and facilitated by a Career Exploration Fair volunteer and we will provide talking points to assist you in your preparation.

There is no fee to participate in this event. For additional information and to register, please visit http://www.volstate.edu/CareerPlacement/career-exploration-fair.php

*If schools are on a hybrid schedule, the Virtual Career Exploration Fair will be a two day event, May 6 and May 7, 9:00 to 11:00 am.
