For Immediate Release: Hendersonville National Day of Prayer Breakfast Announced
The Hendersonville Pastors Association Fellowship, composed of denominational and non-denominational churches in Hendersonville, announce a city-wide National Day of Prayer Breakfast May 5 at First Baptist Church Hendersonville in Wilson Hall. This breakfast is a gift to the community to encourage all citizens to come together for prayer. This year’s theme stands as an invitation and call to worship: “Exalt the Lord Who has Established Us” having been inspired from the truth of Scripture found in our theme verse, Colossians 2:6-7.
Local area pastors and ministerial staff will be leading attendees through 8 specific areas of emphasis. Doors open at 7:30am. To register for this event go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hendersonville-national-day-of-prayer-ticketts-291321248697.
The National Day of Prayer tradition predates the founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the Continental Congress proclamation in 1775 setting aside a day of prayer. In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer and in 1988 that law was amended, designating the National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May.
