Inc. magazine just revealed that Energy Lighting Services [ELS] is No. 1924 on its annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses. Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.
ELS is a small business based out of Hendersonville Tennessee that specializes in LED lighting design and retrofitting, which helps commercial building owners save on their electric bills. ELS also provide electrical services to the greater Nashville area. CEO Jason Duncan started the business ten years ago after losing his teaching job in the 2008 recession.
“Being recognized on the Inc. 5000 list for the second year in a row, which only one in four companies have done, validates our mission and proves that our hard work is paying off” said ELS CEO Jason Duncan. “ We love that we are able to make a difference by creating opportunities for other business too.”

“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have followed so many different paths to success,” says Inc. editor in chief James Ledbetter. “There’s no single course you can follow or investment you can take that will guarantee this kind of spectacular growth. But what they have in common is persistence and seizing opportunities.”
