Hendersonville Military Christmas Care Package Drive

Last year, Keystone Business Solutions teamed up with Hendersonville Christian Academy to sponsor a collection drive for US troops stationed in Iraq.  Inspired by stories from Hendersonville-native Major Grant Carol about what a tough time the troops had getting some of the basic comforts of home, the drive totaled over 900 pounds of donations from hundreds of area residents and businesses.

This year, Keystone & HCA are aiming higher, with the Hendersonville Military Christmas Care Package Drive.  Several area companies have partnered with Keystone to support this year’s drive, and the hope is that even more American troops can receive some small comforts of home this holiday season.

From now through December 5th, donations of items and cash will be accepted at five drop-off points around Hendersonville.  Joining the charge for this year’s drive are the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce, The ACCESS Group, Healthcare Performance Partners, Hendersonville Christian Academy, Hendersonville First Baptist Church, The UPS Store, & City Hall.  All of these partners will be helping to spread the word in addition to serving as drop-off points for donated goods.

Keystone and their partners are specifically looking for the kinds of items that are either in short supply or simply not available to soldiers on the bases.  Items include snacks, candy, DVD’s, batteries, pain relievers, nice towels, footballs and sports equipment, soap and shampoo, foot powder, sheets, books and magazines, and much more—a complete list of requested items can be found on Keystone’s website (kbsweb.com).

Area residents and businesses that wish to pitch in for the Hendersonville Military Christmas Care Package Drive  are encouraged to drop off items or cash donations (or checks made out to the Hendersonville Chamber Foundation) at any of the drop-off points listed above by December 5th.  Due to shipping restrictions, all donated items will need to be 14”x14”x14” or smaller. Photos and video of the troops receiving the packages will be uploaded to the Keystone website as they are received, so everyone who donates can share in the reactions.
